Texas Governor Greg Abbott and federal authorities declared states of emergency in more than 20 counties. Rescue workers, including FEMA and National Guard teams, have been deployed to support local authorities, many of whom described the devastation as “beyond anything they’d ever seen.”

The human toll is enormous. Entire neighborhoods have been submerged, thousands are displaced, and emergency shelters are struggling to accommodate the affected. Local businesses and schools are closed, while roads, bridges, and utilities remain unusable.
